I don't know what all these people putting thumbs down to topics they obviously ater too close minded to understand. You are right. My son's father was brutally murdered in March 2007 and I did the same thing you did. He appeared to me in a dream 3 days after his death. It felt so real--there's no way that was just a dream.

I love John Edward! And I believe in him! Today I lost my uncle....who was actually my grandfather...And I know that he continues to live and that I will meet him there when my time will come!!! :)

There something about John Edwards that is very real. He does not come across as a fraud at all. I think he has a true talent communicating with energies that have passed. I don't think I would have come this far with "Hits and Misses".

There you have it folks, the original statement is still unsubstantiated. I was so hoping to see documentation from "footage of John Edward" that "demonstrates that his 'hits' and 'misses' consistantly [sic] fall within the median of statistical probability." Ah well, I guess I just have to get used to waiting.

See T Edward Damer's book "Attacking Faulty Reasoning" for more information. Oh, I'm sorry, do you think I'm commiting the "Association Falacy" again? I think your looking for the term "Irrelevant or questionable authority" fallacy, but even then, I'm only giving you the benefit of the doubt since my references have been neither irrelevent (researchers in the feild) or questionable (authors of peer reviewed articles). I trust until you actually take a couple 100 level logistics classes...

I wasn't making an argument by asking about your phrasing. In fact, I don't recall making stating any premises, let alone, a conclusoin when referencing the phrase "Flapping your lip." And I will ask you not to say 'ad hominem'; for your sake, not mine. It makes you sound psuedointellectual. When you said "documentation" I assumed that books or 'documents' (as some people refer to them) would be sufficient. Referencing literature doesn't qualify under the Association Falacy.
FriendsCommunities (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Ad hominem arguments show that you have a weak position: Yes I wrote "flapping your lip," is that what you came to discuss?I said "documentation to back up your claims," and that doesn't mean, "name some books about cold reading". You said "it has been observed that any unedited footage of John Edward demonstrates" and I've yet to see your back up proof of that. Your "proof" is an "association falacy". Sharpen up your debating skills or provide back up of your statement. |
